Originally from Argentina, Ana has lived in the US for more than 28 years. She acquired most of her HR experience at former employers American Hospital Supply Corporation and Baxter Healthcare Corporation, where she frequently worked in bi-lingual settings, bringing a multi-cultural perspective to organizational development and training initiatives.
She coaches and trains with equal fluency in both English and Spanish, and has conducted needs assessments and leadership training programs for managers in the United States, Central America, Caribbean, and South America. Ana has also taught Spanish language and cultural classes to U.S. executives to facilitate cross-cultural communication.
Ana performed both corporate and divisional assignments at Baxter, where she worked on HR initiatives building Baxter’s staffing pipeline across multiple functions, most recently partnering with business units and universities to develop effective summer internship programs and college recruiting strategies.
Earlier, as an HR Generalist, Ana oversaw the delivery of all HR services including compensation, staffing and recruitment, to a diverse client base of 500+ employees. She helped to navigate employee relations issues, and consulted to managers on performance evaluations and compensation.
Since forming her consulting business Career Compass, Ana has provided client solutions in the Learning and Development arena, including 360-feedback, onboarding programs, interviewing skills seminars, and rolling out company-wide ethics and diversity workshops. Her clients span a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, food, financial services, aerospace, education, and medical equipment.
Education & Credentials
Ana completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, as well as a Master of Science in Organization Development at Loyola University Chicago, Chicago, IL. In addition, she has been certified by the Chatfield Group in its Team Strengths Survey, as well as numerous other certifications, including Achieve Global Leadership Programs, Langevin Instructional Design, Strengths Finder 2.0 Assessment, and Development Dimensions International (DDI). She will soon be certified as a Career Coach (pending final examination) by the Career Coaching Institute.
She is active in several professional associations, including the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), and National Career Development Association (NCDA).
Ana also gives back to the community by serving as a volunteer Career Coach at CareerPlace, a community organization that provides job search skills training, coaching and support to people in transition. She also delivers workshops in job search, interviewing skills and professional branding at Harper College and Oakton Community College.
