Jan Southern is an independent Training and Organizational Development
Consultant and founder of Wheatland Consulting Group, which specializes
in Corporate Training, Employee Development, Teambuilding, and Large
Group Facilitation. Jan brings both insight and innovative thinking
to her consulting engagements, drawing upon more than 20 years of
experience in corporate and manufacturing settings with Abbott Labs,
Kraft Foods, PepsiCo, and US Foodservice.

Within her consultancy, Jan draws from both her production management
background and Corporate Human Resources and Training experience
as Employee Development Manager for the U.S. Gatorade Plants, Training
Manager for Quaker Oats, and Team Coach for a self-directed Kraft
Foods start-up facility. She has extensive experience in Coaching
Successful Work Teams, Leading and Designing Innovation/Creativity
Workshops, and developing Teambuilding events. She also has developed
and managed Competency-Based performance initiatives and Skill-Based
Pay programs.
Jan is also excited to work as an ART-WORK Facilitator in conjunction
with the Art Institute of Chicago and the Catalyst Ranch, where
she delivers workshops to enhance critical professional skills through
the experience of art. |

Jan holds a B.S. Degree in Biology from Lynchburg College in
Virginia; she is currently a Master’s Degree candidate in
Management & Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University
in Lisle, IL. She also has certifications in facilitating Myers
Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Development Dimensions International
(DDI), Achieve Global (Zenger Miller), and PDI 360 Degree Feedback
Profiling. In addition, she was a Presenter at the International
Conference of Work Teams on Workplace Diversity Awareness in Scottsdale,
AZ.
